Driver Education

ABOUT DRIVER EDUCATION

For the convenience of students, AMHS works with a local agency to provide driver education programs.

Method 1: Classroom Driver Education

The school cooperates with a local vendor, Economic Driving School, to make available on campus courses in Driver Education, the state-required course for students to obtain their instruction permits.  The on-campus course provides student-teacher interaction, discussion, video analysis, and instant feedback. The course is four days in length and is typically offered over the Christmas holidays, the Easter break, and during the summer months.  Specific dates can be found on the school's calendar; and reminders are posted in the Weekly Update as each date nears.

Questions? E-mail Economic Driving School or call (408) 972-1168. For Behind-The-Wheel Training click here. You can call any instructor and set up the days and times that fit your student's schedule.

Method 2: Online Course

Students with busy schedules sometimes choose to fulfill the state-required Driver Education requirement by taking the course online.

The Online Driver Education course is approved by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Reading, flash graphics, videos, quizzes, and practice tests will prepare the reader to pass the written DMV test.

For more information about the course go to Economic Online Driving School.

When registering, make sure you complete the question "How did you hear about us" by choosing School Enter code: 6610. A portion of the cost of the course will go directly to Archbishop Mitty High School.

Cost: $68.50
