Important Information for Current 8th Grade Students
Thank you for your interest in Archbishop Mitty High School. The online application for the class of 2023 is now open. Online applications for the class of 2023 are due no later than Friday, December 14, 2018.
Notification letters, financial aid awards, and High School Placement Test results for the Class of 2023 will be mailed on Friday, March 15, 2019. Electronic notification will be emailed on Friday, March 15, 2019.

Online Recommendations - Our Preferred Method (due Wednesday, February 6, 2019)
Our preferred method is to have recommendations completed online using Ravenna; this online program notifies an applicants’ recommenders of due dates, lets applicants know when their recommendations have been completed, and transmits recommendations electronically.
To begin the online recommendation process with Ravenna, please login to your Ravenna account and follow the steps.
- CONFIDENTIAL RECOMMENDATION REQUEST FORM (required) - Please complete the online Confidential Teacher Recommendation Request form through Ravenna. This form should be completed by the applicant's principal, 8th grade academic teacher, or counselor. (Applicants who choose to use the online recommendation system must also complete Confidential Recommendation Request Form included below.)
- OPTIONALTEACHER EVALUATION FORM (optional) - (This form may be completed by teachers not listed above) This form should be completed by a current English, math, science, or social studies teacher (if he or she was not involved in completing the required Confidential Recommendation Request Form). This form is optional, not required.
- Please Note: Non-academic recommendations are not required by Archbishop Mitty High School. If you would like to submit information regarding an applicant's extra-curricular involvement, you may do so in the form of a letter mailed to the Admissions Office; however, this is not required as part of the application process.
Offline Recommendations (due Wednesday, February 6, 2019)
If you do not complete your recommendations through our preferred online method using Ravenna, you must submit the following forms listed below.
- CONFIDENTIAL RECOMMENDATION REQUEST FORM (required) – Please complete the applicant's personal information, sign the form, and give it to your principal, 8th grade teacher, or counselor for submission. This confidential form should be returned to Archbishop Mitty High School by a representative of the applicant's school.
- OPTIONAL TEACHER EVALUATION FORM (optional) –(This form may be completed by teachers not listed above) This form should be completed by a current English, math, science, or social studies teacher (if he or she was not involved in completing the required Confidential Recommendation Request Form). Required Material (due Wednesday, February 6, 2019)
There are several parts to the application process in addition to the application you are about to begin. The form below is required you may print it by clicking the hyperlink below or through your Ravenna account. Transcripts can be submitted by mail or uploaded by the school through Ravenna.
- TRANSCRIPT REQUEST FORM (required)– Please complete the applicant's personal information, sign the release for school records and give this form to your principal, counselor or 8th grade homeroom teacher for submission of transcripts and standardized testing. This information must be returned to Archbishop Mitty High School by a representative of the applicant's current school.
- STANDARDIZED TESTING – Applicants should also request through the above transcript request that their current school send all standardized testing completed in the 7th and 8th grade. This should be submitted to Archbishop Mitty High School by a representative of the applicant’s current school and can be mailed or uploaded through Ravenna. Students who have not taken any standardized test during 7th and 8th grade are not required to submit testing.
High School Placement Testing
Applicants will register for the High School Placement Test as part of the online application process. The testing fee is included in the $75 application fee. Students who have not applied to Archbishop Mitty High School will be assessed a $50 testing fee due on or before the day of the exam. Space is limited for students who have not applied to Archbishop Mitty High School, please contact admissions@mitty.com for more information. No students will be tested without paying an application fee or a testing fee.

Admissions Criteria
Archbishop Mitty High School is a Catholic college preparatory and preference is given to Catholic applicants. Admission to Archbishop Mitty High School is comprehensive; in particular, the Admissions Committee considers the following criteria when making admissions decisions:
- 7th and 8th grade grades (No marks lower than C; a grade point average of 3.0 or higher is strongly recommended)
- Standardized testing scores from junior high and the High School Placement Test
- Teacher recommendations
- Student-reported activities and special talents
