The AMHS baseball program has a strong tradition of excellence with several alumni currently playing the sport professionally, including Mitch Haniger ’09 with the Seattle Mariners and Trevor Hildenberger ’09 with the Minnesota Twins.
Coach Yocke brings nine years of coaching experience to the job. Prior to becoming the head baseball coach in 2016, he led the AMHS softball team to five WCAL and four CCS championships between 2011 and 2015. During his time at AMHS, he has been named the Coach of the Year by The Mercury News on several occasions. Prior to coaching baseball, Coach Yocke was a Spartan standout outfielder for the San Jose State Spartans. He later joined the Spartan coaching staff and helped lead them to a WAC championship. Additionally, he has coached in the Alaska Baseball League as an assistant and head coach.
