The women’s field hockey program continues to be one of the elite programs in Northern California. This fall, the team swept the league championship and went on to be named CCS Champions. In addition to that, 10 student-athletes claimed All-BVAL recognition and senior Madeline Baker was named the All-BVAL Most Valuable Player while senior Macy McHale was named the All-BVAL Senior of the Year and the CCS Defensive Player of the Year.
Coach Williams ’95 has led the school to six CCS championships and nine league titles during her 18 years as an AMHS coach. She attended Stanford University, where she was a two-time Athletic All-American and a three-time Academic All-American. Coach Williams was also a member of the USA Junior Women’s National Team for two years and was part of the Junior World Cup Team in 1997. While playing four years of college field hockey, she was honored with the Stanford Athletic Board Award as the Most Outstanding Senior Female Athlete in 1999. In 2005, she was inducted into Archbishop Mitty High School's Athletic Hall of Fame for her strong athletic performances in basketball, field hockey, and softball. Coach Williams has been named the BVAL Coach of the Year, the CCS Honor Coach, and the California Coaches Association Northern California Field Hockey Coach of the Year. This year, she was named the State Coach of the Year by the California Coaches Association. She currently holds a level II certification from USA Field Hockey. Coach Williams also serves on the National Federation of State High School Associations’ Field Hockey Rules Committee.
