The men’s water polo team had some strong individual performers this year. Several teammates were named to All-WCAL teams, which recognize the best players in the league. Congratulations, Monarchs!
Coach Vierra brings 13 years of coaching experience to the job. He has coached for Live Oak, Independence, and Monta Vista High School. In addition to coaching AMHS athletes, he has been the water polo director at DeAnza Cupertino Aquatics since 2009. Coach Vierra has taken his passion for water polo to the national level and is involved in the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program, where he is the coach of the Pacific Zone Development team. He has also coached a variety of club teams, including a boys team that participated in the 2016 Junior Olympics, finishing among the top 20 teams in the country.
