Responding to the belief that we are all made in the image and likeness of God, the AMHS Genesis Outreach Program has two goals: one, to attract qualified young men and women of color to join and participate fully in the AMHS community and two; to provide these students with the academic and social support to attain success. Students and their families are provided with extensive academic and social support through our dedicated programs and faculty.
Latin American Student Union
The Latin American Student Union provides a network of support-socially, spiritually, and academically, to Latino students at Archbishop Mitty High School. We strive to educate and celebrate Latino culture and history amongst ourselves and with the larger Mitty community. We welcome all Mitty students, regardless of ethnic background.

The Romero Institute at Archbishop Mitty High School is a one-week summer leadership program for high-achieving Latino students. The program is held the third week in June and creates a unique opportunity for rising 8th graders to explore potential educational possibilities both in high school and college, examine and deepen their cultural identity in a changing world, develop leadership skills and meet with successful Latino role models throughout the Bay Area.
In partnership with Jack and Jill of America Inc., a non-profit organization focused on youth development, The Genesis Outreach Program offers “I AM” Camp to African American rising 8th grade students. The purpose of the camp is to cultivate cultural pride, to develop leadership skills both at the school level and within their own communities, and to expose students to higher education and career opportunities. This camp takes place each year in June.
